Hole 1 – Par 4 – 360 Yards
The opening hole at Elk City Golf and Country Club is a 360-yard par 4 with a fairway that is bisected by a natural trough that can give the player an uneven lie with a wedge in hand. Fairway narrows the closer the drive gets to the green, and the green can be tricky depending on wind conditions and hole locations. Longer hitters will be left with no more than flip wedges, but short-siding yourself from the tee leaves a much more difficult pitch. The green pitches back to front. A spine on the front of the green leaves two distinct front hole locations. The back right can be used as a backboard to get approach shots close.
